Immediate disclaimer – I did NOT build this. I wish I was that talented.

My dad built this folk harp for my mom for their anniversary, and it turned out beautifully. Since my dad’s not on Lumberjocks, I thought I’d post this for him, since I’m really impressed with what a fantastic job he did. He tinkered with some plans he found to make the design his own. The body is cherry, and the sound board is birch. The small highlight piece of wood in the last picture is from a cherry tree formerly located at our old house – nice bit of sentimental wood included there. The finish is polyurethane.

Again, I didn’t build this (wish I had!), and just wanted to post it for you folks to admire. It’s really a beautiful piece, and if it sounds half as good as it looks, we’ll have beautiful music for years to come.

“Dad—you did a fantastic job and I love the little sentiment added into it. Well done”

“Son—way to go, to post this for your dad!” :)
