I made these for my kiddos. It’s sort of a test to see if they can take care of nice furniture. If so, maybe I’ll make them matching dressers someday.
I really like how the curly figure on the legs turned out. They were cut from this epic 2×12x12 curly cherry slab I found at a lumber place. It was just stacked with the rest, but one of those “when you see it, you buy it” boards.
Also, these are the first pieces I made with my new toy: a Festool Domino XL. Of course that made the joinery very fast. The rest, smoothing, flattening, and dovetails, were all done by hand. That seems to be the way I prefer to work these days.
Finish is Zinsser sealcoat(dewaxed shellac) and satin lacquer.
On to the next project. Take care, Red

Nice set of tables. Very pretty. Interesting to see if the kids take of them, I bet they will.
The finish looks amazing. Did you spray the final coats?
Good job of old and new,
Steve

Thanks guys.
Steve, yep, sprayed the lacquer. I’ve got entry level Earlex that works just fine for me.

Beautiful job Red. Your kids are fortunate to have a gifted dad. They’ll appreciate these even more in 30 or 40 years.

I really like the curly cherry, didn’t even know there was such a thing. Can’t believe you got overspray on your saw benches, shame shame
