Like all wanna be woodworkers like myself, I fight the never ending battle of dust control without spending half my life savings on fancy dust collectors. I use a shop vac coupled with a dust deputy, that does an adequate job for most of the power tools I use. The sanding table is a different story. It basically consisted of a solid door slab on a kitchen cabinet, under the window. I’ve seen down draft tables on line and thought I would have a go at it.

I also placed a twin exaust fan in the window to help with the dust generated from the belt sanders.
The build quality isn’t all that great, but is functional and seems to be helping.

Actually I just got that at an old ladies house for 25.00. The radio doesn’t work, but comes on, so its probably a tube. I thought it might be fun to refinish the cabinet.
Have your say...
