Made this out of cherry, flame elder, and walnut. The handle is cherry and the head is walnut encased with flame elder. Measures 10” long and head is 3 1/2” X 2” and its 1 3/4” thick. Mallet face has 1/8” leather pads. It’s a small, medium weight mallet but it feels nice in the hand and contacts very good. Finished with Howard’s wax. Thanks for the looks and comments.

I keep looking at the flame on the side of the mallet. It reminds me of something only I can’t figure it out. Nicely done.

Cute little mallet that will find it’s use .
No picture of the top to see how you hold the handle in the head .
