I’ve been building a playhouse for my niece and nephew and needed to whip up a front door for it and get it installed so that we could finish putting siding on the little structure. Their mom wanted to be able to easily see in while the kids were playing, so the answer seemed to be to make a little dutch door so that the top half could be propped open. Plus, it’s cute :)
The door is just shy of 5’ tall and I wanted to give it some craftsman detail. To keep costs down, I made it out of poplar and painted it. The joints were all done mortise & tenon though, which was good practice for making a full size entry door for my own house in the future.

Very slick. Mr. Ed used to have a door similar to this.

Wow, that is cool, what do you call that type of door? I wanted to get just like that, I wish my order of craftsman doors http://caldwells.com/exterior-doors/craftsman-doors will just be like that.
Have your say...
