I am a fan of Paul Sellers, and when I saw him use a router plane, which I had never seen before, it was a revelation.

Being primarily a power tool user, the idea of a router plane was amazing, I could clean up or do simple dados / rabbets without having to setup a dado stack. So, I purchased a cheap one off Amazon, and immediately found that it was too small because it didnt have enough support.

To fix that, I modded it and made it look kinda like the ones I saw in Paul Sellers workshop hanging behind him.
I made a large hole in the center for blade, and bolted the plane to the support, simple but very effective.

Hope it inspires others.

I am also a big fan of Paul Sellers, and can’t wait for his next video! My favorite was his workbench, which he did outdoors, with about three tools, using the Brit equivalent of 2×4 s in about four episodes. He makes it look so easy!
