Made this Giant lego figure for my son’s 7th birthday. All in it was about a 2 weeks of work spread over a month.
Made from poplar plywood, poplar, pine plywood and pine.
The chest and legs are poplar plywood, with bender ply for the hip section. I cut the cove for the waste section on the tablesaw.
The arms were carved by hand and took approx. 10/15 hours for both. The head and hands were cut on the CNC at work to save both time and my routers bits.
The painting was done by my wife.
It is 55” tall. Weighs less than 100 lbs.
I have to give credit to Jackman carpentry for the plans. I used a multiplyer on his plans of 3.75 if anyone is interested in building this. It is pretty simple to do. The arms are a bear to make but if you take your time it’s do-able. Be prepared for a lot of filling too.

That is a treasure. What kid, or adult for that matter, wouldn’t want a lifesize Lego buddy. Never seen anything like it. Thanks for sharing, and proving to us that although it can be done, it most likely won’t get done by the likes of many of us. Amazing.

’’...Everything is awesome…’’ – if you know the song from LEGO movie. Incredible project. If there weren’t photos how you made it, I would say it’s made of plastic by Lego.

Terrific! I’d be the happiest guy if my father made a big lego like this for my birthday.
