This is a mallet I made from Osage Orange that my Great Grandpa planted back in the 1940’s. I’ve wanted a mallet for some time and I thought this would be a good wood to use. I mostly used a flat chisel to cut the handle. It’s 10 1/2” long with a roughly 3” dia head with a clear coat. The heads not perfectly round but I think that will be ok. Now it will be an heirloom to pass down. So now I have to get me some chisels.

Very useful tool! And the best, it’s made by yourself and from your own lumber. I like carving mallets a lot!
