These are a pair of side tables that were commissioned to go in a great room of a clients house. I had a basic design in my mind that I wanted to work with, something that complimented a buffet piece that I did thats view able off the room. Kinda curvy..kinda Asian”ish’... I drew up a few designs that I was happy with…perusing the net i stumbled across a blog by Patron, that was helping out Spalm or Shipwright? I was never able to figure that out????????
See blog here
Long story short I modified my design a tad more and worked off of Spalm/Shipwright lines. I hope whoever was the creator of this will step forwards and take a well deserved bow…iits a really nice design...!!!!
Material is Alder. I started off with roughcut 2” slabs and went from there. The Tops are bookmatched and if I recall its a provincial stain that brings out alot of grain from such a simple wood. Top coat is homemade wipe on poly.

Those are a great looking pair of tables! I definitely like the Asian look of them, especially the tapered legs, and the upper stretchers—nicely done!
