Rolling Pin from live oak

I made this rolling pin out of some beautiful live oak for my Dad for Father’s Day. He has recently got into pizza making, but our rolling pin was small, cheaply made, and worn out. My Dad is a pretty big guy, so I made him a big rolling pin that will hopefully last for a while. All of the wood is from logs that I salvaged and cut up with a chainsaw, and the finish is a food safe “Howard Butcher Block Conditioner”. I was surprised at the interesting grain in this piece, since live oak can be bland. This is also the first project I’ve done on my new RIKON 70-220VSR midi lathe I recently bought, which I will be doing a review for soon. Thanks for looking!
