About 3 years ago I built a deck in the back yard. At the time the back yard was a hill that ran down to the back door. So I got to thinking it would be easier to move the dirt before I built the deck. That left a pile of dirt in the back yard I kept for back fill. The rest of the dirt I gave to the guy across the street. He had just the opposite of what I had. Well after 3 years Cathy told me “To get this pile of dirt out of her yard or die.”That motivated me to do something and in Auguast the hotest time of the year I started to work. As I am fond of live’n. My buddy Donny Hanson came over with his skid loader and dug the hole for the ten post in the middle (4 1/2 ft). But because of the hill could not do the others. That meant all the rest were up to me and a rock bar (rock it is). The post are 4×6. The rails are 2×10. It is 50ft in the middle by 4ft 7in tall. The sides come down 20ft and over 12ft. I worked on this for 4 weeks on weekends and after work till Iran out of light. Cathy helped me what she could hold this or that and go get things for me. She was a big help as I it was just me doing this. Any way let me know what you think. I have to go to town right now. When I get back I will post the pic of the deck that started all this and the porch that was last month’s project.

Nothing motivates like death threats. Sometimes you just have to sink into the ugliness and get it sroted but it will be worth it when it is all done not least of which is to gain peace with the missus.

I must be blind but I don’t see a finished project Gar. Is it suppose to be a fence one day or something? I think it would be better to put the process in a blog and post the final pictures here and reference the blog. Anyway…

Merry Christmas,

Outputter they only let you put up 6 pic at a time so if you look at my project end of the great wall you will see the other pic of it finished. I don’t know anything about blogs.

You didn’t know anything about woodworking until you learned either. I suggest you check out the link below labeled “Help”. It includes instructions about blogs, posting pictures in a comment to a project, and a lot of other useful information. You’ll be surprised how easy it is.
