This is a mallett with an applewood handle and a mesquite head. It is gift for friend for Christmas.
It is 11” long with a 2 1/2” dia. head

Looks great! Is it for use with carving chisels?

Hi sras, Yes it is for chisels and for anything you don’t want to mark up. I use one in the wood lathe to bang the parts onto the drive center. It has plenty of weight and it does not smash the wood.
