So my dad said he wanted some sort of box for Christmas, this is pretty much the end result of designing it and building it at the same time. I used some leftover hickory from a kitchen I’m working on right now. You’ll notice a little curl in the piece I used for the lid.

Very neat looking box Dustin, I like the curl on the lid.

How did you make the feet and what are the round about dimensions of the box ?

The feet I made by running a board over my table saw blade at an angle and then rounding a part off with a router. I sanded it down to make the curves a little smother. Then I just cut the angles with my miter saw and glued them together with 5 min epoxy. I think I read how to do this in a magazine a while back. This was my first attempt. The box was 15 3/4” by 8 3/4”. The dimensions of the box were designed around the lid because I wanted to keep as much of that curl as possible. Thanks!

The box looks really nice, and I agree, the feet add that special something to it.
