Murphy Bed | Mission style with bookcases| Custom

This is a Murphy bed that I finished in April 2016. It was built from Red Oak with mission type of face. I call the face “The Templeton” More versions of the Templeton Murphy Bed.

Some of the older version had blocks on the face to be used as leg. I’ve changed the deign and now use a leg the folds around from the inside of the bed.

The bookcases are 24” wide and have large door covering the top section. I made the door to match the style of the murphy bed. The lower section has pull out drink trays and 2 drawers.

Nice looking project, thanks for posting.

I’ve never seen one of these in person, but it looks like an interesting idea.

I really like your choice of wood and its layout/placement in this item. Stunning really, and a great use of space..
