Rocking Cradle

Made this for my friends 2 year old daughter for Christmas. Got the idea from fellow LJ Tilt several months back and found the plans online at Rockler. Having measured drawings was a HUGE help. Made out of hard maple and finished with 5 coats of Tung Oil Varnish. It’s hard to see in the photo’s becuase the final coat of finish is still wet, but this finish really brings out the grain and detail in the wood. I’m sure it will get many years of use. Thanks again Tilt for the idea!

I can see why you were attracted to the design. Neat idea!

My wife and I just found out that she was pregnant so we started to look for a cradle and we just love the one you made. You said you found the plans at Rockler? I was unable to find them any help would be very very much appreciated.

Hi, Very nice job, well done. I’ve been searching for some months now for the plans for this cradle so I can make one for my wife who collects dolls and teddy bears, but I’ve not had any luck even at Rocklers. If you could point me to where you were able to obtain your plans I’d very much appreciate it.
Best regards,
Phil
