This project stemmed from grad school days when we would all play cribbage as much as possible. Since then I have built various boards for those fellows but this one I am the most proud of. One of my friends gets married next week and his fiance approached me about building a coffee table board. As on of my first major projects and a chance to learn new skills I jumped at the idea…but then thought, ‘why not add another game to it?’. Scrabble was their other game of choice. I had doubts along the way in my ability and the final project but am very proud of how it turned out. They picked it up last night and it was fun to see both of their reactions (she never got a final photo other than it covered w/ a blanket :) and then hear stories about how she kept it a secret and he almost found out.
The table is build of red oak w/ oak veneer plywood; game boards are oak ply w/ walnut trim and oak inlays on the scrabble. Express stain w/ wipe on poly finish w/ paste wax final coat.
My only regret is not being able to play a game on the cribbage board….yet :) For any of you cribbage players out there, you can imagine how satisfying it is to peg w/ a 2” peg.

Nicely done. I like this concept. Don’t think my dogs would play with me though.

Very cool. I like how all of the tiles and pegs can be stored along with the boards.
Fantastic job.

That’s really a wonderful piece in so many ways. It’s beautifully executed and finished. It’s certainly well thought out. And, it’s a centerpiece for family and friends to gather to have some fun. Wish I knew how to play Cribbage LOL
Nice work!

This is a beautiful table and a very creative piece for the storage and enjoyment of game boards and their various pieces. Nice work.
