My 2nd attempt in making Red Oak & Walnut Bar Stool over this past weekend. It turned out pretty nice (I think).. No pocket holes and screws this time :-). Stool sits at 26” tall and seat is 1 3/4” thick and 18”W x 12’D’. Used glue and 2×3/8” dowels on each joint. Fells really sturdy and weight tested by my 350+lbs friend & neighbor lol. For finish I chose Danish Oil – Medium Walnut and Shellac. Any feedback (including criticism) is appreciated.

The photo taken from the top corner really shows the beauty of the project. Very nice work!

Looks really good. I like the glued up seat.
Can you explain how you attached the top; my wife has asked for a pair of these to go with out dining room set.

Natobious: I took a easy way out on this one and used (6) regular fasteners to attach the top.
