Maple bedside table with walnut accents. Several firsts in this table, Table top is walnut burl veneer, with maple frame. Knob is walnut turned in the drill press using files and sandpaper. The drawer has half-lapped dovetail face, there is no drawer hardware. The feet were easy compared to some of these other firsts they are doweled, glued then tapered with the rest of the leg. I have to say a big thank you to all the woodworkers making YouTube videos. I was amazed at the number of different techniques for making half-lapped dovetails. It’s not perfect but it sure was fun and looks great in the bedroom.

Very nice! Just built one out of walnut… Same deal. I was wondering what a lighter wood would look like, and you have answered my question!

Very nice. Top is amazing.
Only change I would have made was to use a darker wood for the drawer (or stain the side pieces) so the dovetails show more. If you’re going to take the time to make the dovetails then show them off.
