My take on the latest batch of yarn bowls posted. As I mentioned when “The Dane” posted his a few days ago I had just started these two. I really enjoy segmented turning but really hate to cut that yarn slot when I think it is just a pretty bowl. I did round over the upper ring and my wife says it seem to keep the yarn ball in place better. The darker one is cypress & red cedar while the other is plain old white pine and red cedar. Little accents are a very dark walnut. After finishing the cedar looks kinda pink which looks lady-like to me. I know that sometime in the future the cedar will brown up a little. I do have a couple cedar bowls over a year old and the cedar still looks the same as these freshly finished ones. Thanks for looking. Have a very good Derby Day, hope ya win money.

These are really beautiful, I really like all the different layers and varied woods.

Seems a shame to cut slots and holes in such well designed bowls ( : }
The walnut accents are a nice touch

Who said the slot has to go all the way to the top. Great idea and then with a rolled top, nice
