Recently I have been taking pictures for the furnitures I have made since I got this hobby started. This is a blanket chest that I made two years ago. It was made with black walnut and cherry. Somehow the cherry boards were aging differently, and therefore the reason you see the color difference in the raised panels. The inside was fully lined with aromatic cedar board. Looks great! Like the rich contrast between the two species.

I love it! Been a big fan for a while of cherry and walnut together, and this is gorgeous.

Nice project! The wood combination is a good choice.

By the way, cherry darkens when exposed to UV (sunlight). Any chance the lighter cherry panel is getting less exposure to the sun?

Simply put – I love everything about this piece
