I just completed building a bed frame using plans from the Wood Whisperer, this was one of Marc’s recent projects and it came at exactly the right time for me as I was looking for inspiration for a design. I downloaded the plans and just went for it. I just got it done today and it came out really great. I just bought a Festool Domino DF-500 and this was the perfect project to break it in with. I counted a total of 50 dominos went into both headboard and footboard. That means I cut exactly 100 domino mortises in the span of about two hours, including measuring and locating my alignment marks. I’ve never been able to do floating tenons this fast before, I love this thing!

Made from Cherry and Jatoba.

Have a great day.

This project from the Wood Whisperer is also on my To-Do List. Really nice to see someone else has successfully made it. I can only hope mine looks as good as yours. Beautiful!

Awesome. That’s a great way to justify your wife’s a Festool Domino. :)

WOW! Great looking project! I think a bed is just about the best and most useful thing that can be made! Domino joiner was the hardest but best money Ive spent. I really like your wood combination / contrast.
