Project Information

A friend of mine brought me a piece of a pallet and asked me what I could do with it. Sometimes beauty is in the simplicity of the design. The dark spots you see on the top are actually nail holes that i filled in with epoxy. The only tool i used to make this, other than clamps, was my table saw. I'm sure many of you have done projects just like this one or even more ornate than this one. However, this is my first box that I would consider of a display quality. Additionally, I used boiled linseed oil as the finish on it.

Looks really good to me. Did you use butt joints or mitered joints?

I just used butt joints. Simple construction.

nice little box and I like the idea of not hiding the previous use of the wood
I have two projects on the go and did a table awhile ago from pallets and I've been leaving the bolt and nail holes and even dados or other milling details from the wood exposed so that it has a story to tell. Not sure others appreciate it but I like it
