Turquoise olive pen

A few weeks back I made a bunch of pens for an auction to send some girls to camp, my inlaws requested the fiddle back maple pen and the olive wood if we can get them for under $100 (felt silly bidding on the items I donated but hey it was for a good cause) well we got the maple pen but the olive sold for $80 by itself so I made another pen for my father in law (another coming soon since the person who won the pen is requesting another olive)

The blank I made had some checking in it so I decided to inlay it with some turquoise I had leftover, unfortunately I deleted the picture of the inlay but you can see it in one of the pics somewhat. Top of the pen was right in the crotch of the log so it had some very impressive figure.

Nicely done! I like that grain effect a lot!

Nicely done. Olive is one of my favorite woods for pens. The grain on this is particularly nice.
