A good friend wanted to make a birthday gift for another friend. The game this is built for is Ragnarok. It’s based on Norse mythology and uses runes, miniatures and a bunch of other stuff. Basically a lot of components to cart around.

So I took out the collection of spare wood and made this baby. All reclaimed or recycled parts.

Plywood that I primed and then sanded back until it got the battered look. Ebony stain all over. I used a Dremel to engrave the runes and pretty stuff.

-- Slice, whack, smack, bang bang, sploosh, scrape, done.

Great job, looks like it is straight off the set of the TV show Vikings. Thanks for posting.

Thank you. It was a rush job. Which makes your compliment all the more meaningful. I’m thinking of taking these stylized boxes on as a full-time hobby, with more attention to detail and materials. So far, my three box attempts have all been great successes. There must be more in here somewhere.
