I made this disc sander because the old one is not possible to calibrate, and it had a lçot of vibrations.
I still have to connect the dust collector and protections.

What did you use for the disk and are you going to add a miter slot?

The disk are made of MDF. I don’t think to add a miter slot.

How fast does it spin? With that gearing I’d guess 4 million RPM.

The motor 3000 rpm. The disk about 600 rpm. I think that is necessary more rotation. About 1200 rpm

Nice work.
This may be a completely stupid question, but what is that black piece that you put on the shaft at 4:18 in the video called? I want to build something like this, but I don’t know what term to use in my searching.

I calibrated with iron weights, but does not appear in the video, I think.
I get the sandpaper in Portugal: “Indasa”
