This is a bar I built for a buddy of mine. He wanted something for his “bachelor pad”. I got a little excited and the bar ended up much bigger than I expected. So much so that it wouldn’t fit up the stairs to the apartment and it wound up sitting in my living room 8 months. I eventually sold it on craigslist at cost of materials to the Student Veteran Society at LSU for their on-campus study hall. I’m happy with the way it played out. It sounds like they’re going to get a lot of use out of it.

The whole thing is made of construction pine to keep the cost low. The bar top is made of 1/8” rips of 2-by-4s cut at random lengths. The red stain was called Gunstock, oddly enough. I didn’t expect it to be so red.

Thanks for checking it out.

Yep you got to keep an eye out for those delivery space tolerances . But I am betting the Students will find a why to put it to very good use.

Have your say...
