My new Drying Rack

While painting my display cases, another issue that arose is being able to set my pieces to dry while painting other pieces and making more than one or two cases at a time.

I saw this doing a search the other day (again I can’t take credit for it but I did expand it a little).

The rack is made out of 2×4’s and a lattice (HD for about $8.00 for a 2×8 piece).

I cut the lattice into 2’x4’ sections so I got 2 out of the 1 lattice.

Next I put together the 2×4 frame – I made the height 6’ to give me 1 1/2’ free on the bottom for extra drying area.

Remember the Target Stand bases –

Here they are again – re-purposed and reusable!

I used 4’ lengths of 1×2”’s for the rack holders – I chose 1×2’s because they were $1.77 at HD instead of $4 for dowels

These slats can be cut to any size needed which is the beauty of this rack.

I just happen to only need up to 4’ at the moment for my display cases.

Another beauty of this rack is that it can be configured to practically any size and shape for drying since the lattice can take most size slats or dowels

-- They said I could be anything... So I became Sarcastic! They also said making drawers is easy... I think they lied :(
