Here is a small side table I was commissioned to build for a friend. He has several other furniture pieces I have built. This one has a 2” thick tigerwood top and a nicely figured tigerwood bottom piece with maple legs. The legs are square through tenons, which were tricky to cut in the very hard wood of the thick top.
These pics were just taken on one of my benches in the shop but this piece now sits nicely in his living room.

I like this a lot! Nice and simple, with clean lines, and a great choice in wood. Very nice!

I got some tigerwood and it is super dense and heavy and it is wearing down my saw blades. No wonder I see very few fine woodworking projects with that stuff – it will probably blunt my chisels if I try to cut some dovetails in it !

Have your say...
