Solid pine corner TV stand loosely inspired from traditional French-Canadian cabinets. The six inch high open cavity provides a decent amount of space for AV equipment. Raised panel doors swing 180 degrees to allow easy access to the bottom compartment, which is fitted with an adjustable shelf. Bead detail around the face frame gives the piece a more refined look and is repeated in the base moulding. Door frames assembled with mortises and haunch tenons. Door panels were finished before assembly. Small notches in the top and bottom edge of the panels catch short pegs driven into the center of the groove of the door rails. This ensures the floating panels always stay centered in the frame. Finish is sprayed waterborne lacquer over two seal coats of orange shellac over aniline dye.
