Did anybody else have this game as a kid in the 60s? It was called Space Tilt. you used knobs to tilt the top in such a way to run a ball bearing around the maze to the final hole. I remember we got so good we made it almost every time and ended up having timed races.

Well, my old game was pretty beat up and the wood warped to the point it wasn’t playable so one Saturday last year I tore the whole thing apart, saved only the metal rods, strings and springs underneath and the maze top and rebuilt the whole thing with nice oak sides and walnut corner supports. It turned out great and works better than new.

Hope I tripped someone’s nostalgia trigger with this one. Thanks for lookiing.

Yea I had this game too. We did the same thing, after beating the game we’d time it and then go backwards as well. If took any WIP pix of the hardware please post so we can see the inner workings. Maybe would take this on someday if I could see how the mechanics of it function.

I had one as well and I wasted many hours perfecting my technique. I was amazed when I saw Paul Simon (the singer and songwriter) on a talk show demonstrate his expertise. He was able to use the game to tap out different rhythms using the bearing as he expertly navigated the course. I thought I was pretty good but my talents paled in comparison.

Nice job. I had one too, when I was in college, though it still may be in the attic somewhere. I think mine was called “Labyrinth”. With practice you could twist the knobs fast and make the ball jump over the fences to bypass a section. Somewhere along the way I made a replacement top for it out of plexiglass. It was amazing how different the ball moved, much smoother motion.

Many hours on this game. I might have to put this on the list.
