Black Walnut Chest

Black Walnut, oil based rub on poly. I used Maple for splines. I filled the wood void with pyrite to look like a vein of gold. I think the whole turquoise filling has gotten a little cliche. Just my opinion of course.

I like that you used a lighter wood for the splines, your chest looks great!

Joe, welcome to Lumberland. I like your box. The colors are a good contrast. The filling is different. The corner splines work well, and the chain stop is fine.
I take it you are left-handed. I especially like the finish and grain in the top board. Keep boxing and keep posting.
