Designed for jewelry tools and parts from a discussion I was having with a watchmaker buddy of mine. Unfortunately he wanted lot’s and lot’s of divisions in the drawers, maybe next time. Made from Canary and Ropey Walnut. I did biscuit the woods together, Canary doesn’t like glue enough for me to take a long term chance on it from the test glue ups I tried.

Very nice. Really like the contrasting wood. I am in the learning phase of woodworking so could you comment on your design for the drawer guides? I’m looking at options for a future project that don’t require metal drawer slides and it looks like you have a dado on the drawer side…and then a rail mounted inside the case?

That’s very nice. Love the wood combo.

3/8 inch dado in the sides and drawer,Incra fence, runners cut on the Uni, glued into the box sides, be very careful with your measurement in the drawer slides. Cut the slides so they just fit and sand to where you like them, then wax the slides and runners, I used shellac on all the Maple, inside and out of the drawers, Waterlox on the box, my favorite finish is Sam Maloof but I think the Waterlox is a more durable finish.

Thanks for the info on the slides and the finish.

Really like the craftsmanship on this piece. Could you add a close up shot of the handle area please?
