Here’s a bookshelf for kid’s that looks like a barn. Complete with working gate and loft. Painting took longer than building it. Mostly 1/2” MDF with a little poplar and a bit of oak. It’s just under 49” tall.

Looks great. You did nice work and and a very good paint job. When making toys and stuff for the little ones it seems the painting is always the most time consuming.

I LOVE this!!! Do you have your plans for this that you can share or sell? I have a little girl who is all about horses and this would be so fun in her room! Thanks!!!

Do you have your plans that you can share for this? I would love for my husband to make this for our daughter. It is super cute!

This barn bookcase is just what I need for a project that I’m doing for an elementary school project. Our farm bureau ladies are supplying agricultural books for all the elementary schools in our county, and we want the FFA to build us some barn bookcases, but we can’t find any plans. Can you help?

It’s so darn cute. I would love to find plans too. My husband is not on the creative side, but he could build it with plans. :)

Kimshreeve—I sent you a message through the message tool on this site several days ago. Your page will have a little envelope at the top you can click if you have not seen it. I don’t have a nice set of plans, just my scribbles—If I can find them. The basic unit came from a WOOD magazine plan on a dollhouse and castle theme. I will see if I have my notes on the roof and the base but I know I just “winged it” as I went for the angles on the roof and for the little ramp on the base.

I’ve found the plans for the base of the barn, but I really need help on the barn roof (angles, size, etc). Can you help? Thanks.

Anne,
Where did you find the plans? I have been searching the Wood magazine and do not see it.
Thanks,
Kim
