Working in the garage one day with my brother-in-law, Josh made some joking comment about wooden boobs. The idea wheels started turning and before long we were talking about a boob shaped bandsaw box, perfect for body jewelry or a tattoo parlor. I’m not inked up nor a fan of body jewelry…so this was a bit odd for me honestly. Josh decided his project manager was the perfect candidate for such a thoughtful gift.
Anyways…Josh went home and didn’t believe we’d ever build a boob box. Over the next week or so I glued up some scraps of birch ply squares and then sketched out a design on graph paper to match the size of the glue up. I found a scrap piece of hard maple for the “fronts” of the drawer, drilled out the holes for the walnut and maple dowels, then carved out the basic shape of the mounds on the bandsaw and sanded everything smooth. The cherry dowels were the last things to glue in. It’s finished with BLO and several spray coats of laquer from a rattle can. Inside of the drawer is flocked.
This is one of those things I can’t leave sitting around for the kids and all the neighbors to see. My mother would have a heart attack. My wife just rolled her eyes with a cute smile and called me a “weirdo”. The finished box sits alone, hiding in my gun cabinet, waiting for Josh to come up next weekend. He will take the “boobs” home with him to Salt Lake and deliver to the perfect recipient.

You did what to her insides??? Oh, flocked. Nice job. What next, a va-jay-jay box; or is that redundant?

You could have just sliced the boobs off this tree…

Your version has nicer nipples…
