I made this ring box from walnut with bloodwood inlay. There’s a magnet in the lid and one in the middle circle.

Very cool, a great way to personalize that gift for a special someone.

Ooo La La! Hope the ring does it justice! Diamonds might be a bit dull for it…

thanks for the compliments everyone. I really appreciate it.

Bigike, the top was a seperate piece from the very beginning (not sure if that was part of the answer you were looking for). I made the dovetail cuts with my Routerboss on the lid and base.

Well I decided to make this box for a friend who was going to propose. He lives 6 hours away so I made the ring opening large enough to hold almost any ring. Well it’s not large enought to hold a large antique ring. So I still have the box. It’ll help me remember what I did if I ever make another.

Beautiful box. Makes me wish I was into woodworking when I proposed to my wife.

Super nice box. Like the woods together. Gr8 idea with the magnet also. It is too bad it didn’t fit. But, still, a beautiful ring box.
