her is one of two bowls that i finished that i started a little while back
this one is made out of cherry maple wenge purple heart mahogany
and the rim and top are Wight oak
the are 325 pieces in it
it stands 4 inches 12 inch at the rim 6 1/2 at the bottom
what u think about it

VERY nice, branch! I wish you would have included some pictures of it while you were creating it. I would have liked to see a picture of the rings before they were assembled and after gluing together, for example. Might be helpful to us newbies!

thanks for having a look and your kind thoughts

brenth it is quiet simple the are 36 pieces in the ring for the first ring you start by cutting 30 out of say cherry or what ever your choice of wood you use for the the mane base of the bowl and 3 out of wenge black wood and 3 of purple heart the second ring cut 6 wenge 6 purple heart and 24 of cherry the third ring cut 6 wenge 6 purple heart and 6 maple
and 18 cheery forth ring 6 purple heart 6 wenge 12 maple 6 mahogany and 6 cherry the fifth ring is the same as the third ring the sixth rinh is the same as the second ring and the seventh ring is the same as the first the top and bottom ring can be made out of any kind of timber that you want the thickens of the timber is 1/4 by 1 1/2 inch hope this helps have a go and have fun

Hi Branch, I like the symmetrical patterns in these bowls. 325 pieces is a lot of planning, cutting, and glueing, very nice.
