This was my first attempt at a bandsaw box. I used the plan available at the “Woodworking for Mere Mortals” website. Made out of purple heart and maple and finished with 4 coats of lacquer. That purple heart is some hard stuff to sand. Broke 2 bandsaw blades cutting this out. The first was probably on me…trying to use a 1/2” blade to make too tight a turn. The other I think was a bad weld. It snapped while I was doing some sanding and not even using the bandsaw. Maybe I had the tension too high but I don’t think so. Anyway…it was a gift for the wife…a little late but she liked it. Thanks for looking!

This is a really nice looking bandsaw box! Seems like it’s a perfect Saint Valentine’s Day gift—and lasts much longer than chocolates!

There can’t be more beuatiful gift for Valentine’s than hand made gifts like this box. Those two wood combinations are awesome.
