First off, I want to say hello to everyone. I have been lurking in the background for a while now.

Second, I can not take credit for the design of this project. I went off of a picture which was posted on this site from Ben.

I really liked the look but wanted to make a few tweaks of my own. I am still letting it dry out before I can stain it.

The details:
-I used 4×6 for the arms and either 2×12 or 2×8 for the seated area (depend on the depth I wanted).
-I decided to buy a Kreg mini pocket hole jig which allowed me to how show any screws (with the exception of on the arms). I thought this was a cleaner look. You will notice I have hole drilled on the sides of the top back piece. This was because initially I has planned on wrapping it with a 2×4, but later decided I liked it better without.

Since this was my first project, I choose to use some cheaper cushions from Target. The dimensions I used were based on that. Let me know if you have any questions.

I used treated pine. It is really the first think I have ever built other than shelves. I may do it again and if I do, I will probably pick a better work.

Have your say...
