My wife told me that the bench at her shop was old & “creeking,” and she wanted to buy a new one. Fortunately for her (and me) I had some legs sitting around from another project that I started, so I decided to just go ahead and build one before she spent any $$$ on another cheap bench from Target.

Made from red oak, the legs feature draw bored Tenon’s (picture 3) and walnut plugs, cut so the face grain would line up with the grain of the legs. The top has mortise and tenon joinery around the frame, as pictured below:

I engraved the logo of her business into the middle slat (picture 4) of thr top and used my new burner to put my own stamp on the inside of the bottom (pic 5). Finished with 3 coats of satin poly.

The best news is that she absolutely loves it! Thanks for looking, comments/questions/suggestions welcome and replied to.

Great looking bench! Sure beats what you get at the stores—I’m sure she loves it!
