I just wanted to share one of my designs as i am always looking for new ideas so here it is.
This jewelry box is made from 5 different types of exotic hardwoods. The main construction is out of zebrawood which all came from the same board so when the drawers are closed the wood grain lines up and it almost appears that it has no drawers at all. Using the same board also allows me to make a 4 corner grain match around all the corners.
The top and bottom is made from figured makore wood which are floating panels to allow for seasonal wood movement.
The drawer sides and back are bubinga wood. The drawer dividers and the miter keys in the corners are bloodwood. The bloodwood drawer dividers all come apart and out of the drawer if needed and can be stored in the bottom of the box under the bottom drawer.
The splines that help to strengthen the joint on the drawer front is chechen wood and the drawer sliders are chechen as well. The drawer sliders are waxed and they slide in and out with ease.
This box is one of the most thought out plans i have came up with, i spent alot of time making sure all joints are constructed in the most solid and dependable way possible.
The box measures 6 1/4” tall 9 7/8” wide and 5 1/2” deep.

That is a pretty box. The drawers do seem to disappear.

You have created one fine masterpiece with this one. I especially like the wood combination as well as your disappearing drawers.
