Burl Bowls

Here are two of my burl bowls. The oblong one is from a locust burl I found alongside the road from a tree that had recently fallen. I have never seen a locust burls before so it was a special treat to turn. You can see from the underside that it has a earthy bark texture and then a nice grain pattern on the inside. The second one is from a black cherry burl a friend had given me. I like the way this one turned out with almost a picturesque scene designed into it. I enjoy turning green wood and watching how they dry and what shape they turn into.
