I recently completed this small table for my parents. They had just moved into a new apartment and needed smaller kitchen/dining table. I incorporated a pull out tray to allow for a tea or coffee pot. The top surface is only 24” x 31” so this came in handy. Fruitwood stain and urethane.

Nice compact table – the pull out will be handy

Thanks Dick, the pull out was actually an after thought. I had dry fit the table, and while looking at it I realized that the top surface was really small. I wasn’t really sure what I should do, the table size was as required. When I was putting away some rules in my very shallow workbench pencil drawer, I had my answer. Luckily the table was just at the dry fit stage so taking a side and cutting a slot was nice and easy. Add two rails underneath and there you have it.
