I saw Steve Ramsey's video for these and I knew I had to make them. Where I deviated from his plans was that I made these out of small pieces of hardwood scrap glued together in small panels, and not a single piece of wood. Using his resawing technique led to disaster (the offcut again and again kept getting pulled back into the path of the blade and catching and missling through the garage) so I had to improvise.

I got to use my new Bic lighter brand for these as well. Unfortunately the brand wasn’t delivered in time for Christmas, but that’s what you get for thinking up a cool idea too late. I got mine here, and it took about 3 weeks to deliver. Word of advice: buy the lighters in bulk on eBay or Amazon, you only get one brand per lighter as the heat is too much for the cheap plastic to take.

Finished with 2 coats of spray lacquer.

This looks great, I would love to try to duplicate this but don’t think my patience would hold haha.
