I saw somebody posted on an online forum that they are looking to buy an inexpensive coat-rack which is sturdy and is able to hold a lot of weight. So, I emailed her and said I don’t know where to buy one, but I can build one. I found a few designs online and put some of them together and came up with this thing. I was a little afraid of not reinforcing the post to the cross-frame so I drilled into the post and added a length of aluminum piping about 45cm in length. I added the top crown later when I realized that without anything it looks ugly. I tried to find a pre-made cap of some kind, but did not have the time, so I took some molding from my shelf and cut these little strips to put around the top. Then, I took individual squares from the same molding and used it to cover up the screws on the bottom frame. She loved it and thought the molding really added a little something.

I see the photos are all uploading sideways, I am not sure why. If anybody has any tips please share.

Please let me know what you think about the project. I would love tips and ideas.
