DIY mailbox

My old metal mailbox got all rusty after 3-4 years so I decided to build one instead of buying another run of the mill regular mailbox.
This one is made entirely out of Cedar ,the shingles are leftover from my roof repair but I cut 1.5” slit into each shingle to make the roof look in proportion to the size of the house.
It may not be a work of art but I got tired of building tables, coffee tables ,TV stands, cabinets, etc.etc. I just wanted to have a fun project and make something different, so I made a mailbox, lol.
Thank you all for looking.

This is really nice!

I like it! It is like a sign telling people that you build cool stuff.

I love it Ken. down here, we have to get the postmaster’s approval in order to install unapproved mail boxes. I can see why that is knowing people’s imagination can go wild.

Thanks Roger,Mahdee.
Lol,Mahdee, you are right about wild imagination people have with designing mailboxes, when I searched Google images for inspiration, I too noticed some of the weirdest designs that I would not even consider to put in front of my house ,most of them were not even practical for a mailbox.
That gun makes me laugh.
