This is a new pen kit from PSI and it uses a real once-fired 50-cal cartridge casing.
The 2nd picture shows its size in comparison with a pen I make with a .30-06 casing and deer antler and a Sierra click pen. The casing was sanded up to 2000 grit then coated with Turners Polish. The woods used include ebony, redwood burl, amboyna burl, cocobolo and snakewood. The pen, although very large, has a nice feel.
An update: The third pix shows a batch of pens that were laser-etched with names and in some cases college numbers of intended recipients. White paint was rubbed into the laser-etched ares to make it stand out in the dark wood.

I imagine that’ll make it easier to make up lists using bullet points.

I would take a SHOT at a pun too, but they were all used. haha

Great work. My son in law is a gun nut and would love one of these.

Keep it up.

The pens are twist type with the twist being between the casing and the wood portion. The bushings are designed to match the casing and the pen tip so I doubt if your daughter would have a set that would work with a 50-cal casing, The bushings were only $5.00 or so. The pen kits should be available now thru Penn State Industries.
