Edge grain cutting board

My 2nd project back woodworking and I went with an edge grain cutting board. I used scrap wood and ended up with walnut, purple heart, and white oak (which I now know might be a little too open pored for a cutting board). I used 4 rubber screw in feet originally for a guitar pedal. I routed a small finger groove on both sides, which ultimately might not be necessary with the feet. Finished with 6 coats of warm mineral oil/beeswax mixture.

great looking cutting board – hard to believe it is end grain…

-- New Project = New Tool... it's just the way it is, don't fight it... :)

Thanks, I think it’s actually “edge” grain. Although, one of those pieces of purple heart might be face grain because they ended up pretty close to square. I couldn’t exactly tell which was which at that point.
