My wife wanted me to build us a table, so I did. First and only one, I have zero experience at it but she found a simple plan that we both liked. I enjoyed building it even though it’s much bigger project and I was kinda scared to do it. I have about $85 dollars in pine lumber, screws and I bought a Kreg pocket hole jig(love). It didn’t come with plans for bench so I found a picture of one on Internet and I just recreated it by just guesstimating measurements. Hand plained(I’m not very good at it but it worked out actually leaving dark blimishes when done)Works for us. Finished it with mixture of melted paraffin wax and gunstock stain, one coat of satin poly then buffed it with steel wool to dull.

It looks really great in your dining room. Nice work.

My wife has been asking for something similar lately. Farm style tables must be the in thing at the moment.

Have your say...
