I have seen some very nice cutting boards on this site and was recently inspired by a chevron style posted by jaycidesigns. I decided to try my hand at one just for fun. This is my first attempt at the chevron pattern design. It was a good learning experience and I am happy with the finished product. This is made from Walnut, Maple and Padauk and finished with olive oil.

That is a very nice board. For boards you make in the future, use mineral oil or any oil specifically produced for use on cutting boards rather than a plant based oil such as olive oil which will eventually turn rancid.

Thank you all for the nice comments.

Gary, thank you for the feedback on the olive oil. I will take your advice and pick up some mineral oil.
