This is a wall mount headboard that we made that incorporated a cowhide. The customer brought us the cow hide and wanted us to put a frame around it. Natural wood or even reclaimed wood wasn’t’ going to give us the look we were after so we had a faux finish added. Believe it or not that is just maple plywood.

We hung it on the wall using a metal French cleat system.

This was completed in September 2015.

Can you give us some clues on what you did to the plywood?

I had an artist do it for me. I believe he used plaster inside the paint to give it that texture and the used different paints and stains. Sorry that is not much help. Maybe some day I have have him give me a demonstration and I can blog about it.
